Sjt G Atack 302 Lancashire Fusiliers World War 1.

He was a regular soldier who enlisted in 1908 in the Lancashire Fusiliers, from 25/9/1914 he left the army and was on the reserve list, he relisted in 1916 into the Machine Gun Corps number 64922 and was killed in action 02/09/1917, buried in the Bard Cottage Cemetery. Belgium Grave reference IV.E.34

He was born in Dewsbury, York's and lived at 7 Porter st, Bury, Lancashire.

He was married.

His service records are available on Ancestry as are his pension records from his first enlistment.

There are 2 medal roll cards for him, one for Lancashire Fusiliers and the Machine Gun Corps, the second doesn't say he is killed bur he is listed in the Soldiers killed in the Great War.

Medal and ribbon in excellent condition.

His service number with the Lancashire Fusiliers is a very low one.
