Sunny Hill was a British Red Cross convalescent hospital during WW1 located in Thorpe St Andrew, Norfolk. It served as a facility for recovering servicemen, a common function for many properties the Red Cross prepared before the war. The hospital was a key part of the organizations service, providing a place for wounded soldiers to recuperate, as many temporary hospitals were quickly made available once the conflict began.
It operated as a convalescent hospital for wounded soldiers, which was one of the British Red Cross's many roles during the war.
The hospital was part of a network of appx 3000 facilities used to help servicemen recuperate after being wounded, especially after the number of wounded soldiers began to overwhelm traditional medical facilities.
