Served on the following ships;

HMS Royal Arthur was launched in 1891 and was originally named Centaur. She served as the flagship of the Pacific Station from 1893–1896, and then the Australian Station from 1897–1904. During her time on the Australian Station, she escorted the royal yacht Ophir to Australia in 1901 to open the new Federal Parliament. She also carried the first Governor-General of Australia, Lord Hopetoun, on his first visit to Sydney. In 1918, she became a submarine depot ship. She was paid off after World War I. 

From August 1914 to February 1915 HMS Hannibal was a guard ship at Scapa Flow. Later that year, her main armament was removed and she was converted to a troop ship, serving in this capacity during the Dardanelles campaign. From November 1915 to the end of the war, she served as a depot ship based in Alexandria, Egypt.
