French Croix de Guerre 1914-1918 issue with Bronze Star
This is an original wartime French Croix De Guerre medal with a bronze star on the ribbon.
A very collectable item from the era of World War I (1914-1918) represents the service of the French Army during the conflict.
The Croix De Guerre is a symbol of military honour and achievement, making it a significant piece of militaria history from this period.
Since the Croix-de-Guerre was in its origins meant to reflect a “mention in dispatches”, ribbon emblems were worn to show the level of “mention”. These emblems (as had been used in WW1) were : Bronze star – for mention in Brigade, regimental or unit dispatches.
